HARRISBURG — 27th District State Senator Lynda Schlegel Culver is collecting nonperishable food throughout September to support local food banks. Sen. Culver says the drive is part of Hunger Action Month, which raises awareness about food insecurity.
Donations will be accepted through 30 at district offices in Bloomsburg, Mount Carmel and Shamokin Dam.
Residents attending senator Culver and state house member Joanne Stehr’s Senior Expo at Knoebels can also bring donations. Culver says all collected food will go to local food banks serving area families. More information is available through Senator Culver’s district offices.
