BLOOMSBURG — In Bloomsburg, police are urging caution as Block Party weekend brings large crowds and heavy drinking. Officers highlight concerns about “BORG” drinks, which can contain dangerous amounts of alcohol.
Bloomsburg Police say the gallon-sized mixtures may include up to 16 shots of liquor, increasing risk of alcohol poisoning. Officers remind underage drinking remains illegal and furnishing alcohol to minors can bring charges. Police also stress not to drive impaired and to call 911 during emergencies.
Authorities say Pennsylvania’s Medical Amnesty Law may protect those who seek help in overdose situations. Police urge attendees to plan rides, stay with friends, and make safe choices.
