DANVILLE — A virtual meeting hosted by Talen Energy focused heavily on possible data center development near the Montour Power Plant. The Daily Item reports company officials took questions night ahead of this week’s Planning Commission meeting regarding Talen’s rezoning request.
Talen Vice President Julie Labella says the goal is “providing clarity” while the company evaluates development options. The newspaper reports Talen seeks industrial zoning for about 870 acres, where farming could continue on any unused land.
Real estate director Marc Jackson says the company may pursue data centers or a power project on the parcels. County commissioners are expected to vote on the rezoning next month.
