MIFFLINBURG — Four Mifflinburg students are being recognized for their quick and selfless actions during a school bus emergency. According to the Standard Journal, police chief Jeff Hackenburg presented Good Samaritan Awards and challenge coins to Hadley Hess, Zachary Hess, Mateo Zettlemoyer, and Layne Foster.
He told the school board; these students helped calm classmates and assisted the driver after a medical emergency on . The Standard Journal reports the driver managed to pull the bus safely off the road before becoming incapacitated. He praised the students’ leadership and maturity during the incident.
