HARRISBURG – Pennsylvanians could get another day off…A state lawmaker wants to honor slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk with a state holiday. GOP state house member Russ Diamond of Lebanon County introduced legislation Thursday to mark Aug. 1 each year as Charlie Kirk Day.
Diamond said Kirk was a heroic, tireless advocate for free speech and civil debate, especially on college campuses. Kirk started Turning Point USA. He was killed Wednesday during an appearance at Utah Valley University in a sniper-style shooting. Investigators said a suspect has been arrested.
