Federal $2.5 Million Coming For Two Valley Projects
WASHINGTON — Two Valley projects are getting a combined $2.5 million in federal dollars; US Congressman Glenn Thompson announced the funds this week.
In Freeburg, Snyder County, $750,000 will help rehabilitate the borough’s sewer system. The project will line sanitary sewer mains and help reduce overflows during heavy rainfall.
In East Buffalo Township, Union County, $1.8 million will fund the West Market Street Pedestrian and Traffic System Improvements Project. Officials say curb extensions at intersections will calm traffic and shorten pedestrian crossings downtown. Thompson says the project will improve safety along a corridor serving businesses and Bucknell.
