LEWIS TOWNSHIP — Authorities say a 48-year-old Chester County man was found dead morning along Lycoming Creek. The Lycoming County Coroner’s Office reports Nathan Merrill Sherman of West Chester was discovered around 10am floating near the southern edge of the creek on the 400 block of Susque Road.
Witnesses told investigators he had been fishing there the night before. Officials say there were no signs of foul play or trauma, and Sherman had an extensive medical history. Trout Run and Ralston fire personnel and Susquehanna Regional EMS assisted at the scene. The coroner and state police continue to investigate.
