Okay gang, here's the
ever-interesting bio of Rob Senter. It all started
on a fall day in 1965 in Philadelphia, when a lovely young woman was
about to give birth to her second son. Too far
back? Then let's start with my first radio gig in
college. I went to Clarion University of PA (right
after they changed the name from Clarion State College) in the fall
of 1983 and almost immediately started working at the FM radio
station there, WCUC. I worked my way up from part
time news reporter all the way up to being named the "Outstanding
Senior" for that year. In between I did
internships at WPVI-TV in Philly and WBUX radio in Doylestown, PA,
getting five credits toward graduation!
I think all of that led
to me getting my first paid radio job at WSBG/WVPO in Stroudsburg in
1987. Again, I started doing news part-time and worked
my way up to being the top part time DJ they had there, filling in
as much as possible and learning as much as I could.
When it became obvious a full time position wouldn't be in the cards
there I found my way up north to Honesdale where I took the job as
the afternoon guy on WDNH. Along with WWCC, I spent
three years working hard and doing as many shift on the air and
behind the scenes as I could. Again, I found
myself needing to move on when they moved me back into the news
department and in a matter of weeks was right here in Central PA!
When I first started
here at Sunbury Broadcasting in 1992 we only had two stations, WKOK
and WQKX. I was the nighttime guy on WKOK, this being in
the years when music was still prevalent on AM radio stations, and
eventually moved up to afternoons. In 1998 we
started a brand new station, Eagle 107 and from there on it's been a
whirlwind of a career! I did mornings with Lynn
Hall the first year or so, moved to middays and at one point was
even doing afternoons. Now I'm finally settled in
as the host of the Rock N Roll Morning Show, getting up before dawn
to play the best Classic Rock and crawling into bed just after 9
each weeknight.
Over the years I've been
given more and more duties and titles, so now I'm the Program
Director for Eagle 107 (as well as the Music Director) and I'm also
the MD for WQKX and the Valley. You can catch me
doing morning sports on WKOK and with Drew & the Crew on 94KX, and I
am now the midday guy and host of That 70's lunch on the Valley.
Let's just say it's always busy here and I wouldn't have it any
other way.
