Okay,
here’s my story. It’s sort of ho-hum, but since you might be
slightly interested because you clicked on my picture, I guess I
should tell you about myself so your “visit” wasn’t wasted!!
I’ve been living in the area for many moons, graduated from Shamokin
High School in 1978. After that, it was on to the University of
Pittsburgh, where I majored in English Lit. That kind of led into my
first job out of school, working at WSPI in Shamokin editing a
current-interest-type magazine. Eventually I ended up on the air,
first working overnight babysitting a syndicated show and reading
the weather twice an hour. (The first time I ever opened the mic, I
couldn’t say a thing… kind of funny, since now I can’t seem to shut
up while on the air!!) Then, I worked my way up to evenings and
afternoons before moving on to do news on WISL AM. After that, I
spent several years in the late 80’s doing afternoons at WHLM in
Bloomsburg, and ended up here in 1989. They still haven’t been able
to get rid of me!! Seriously, I do love it here, it’s as much fun as
it sounds to you when you’re listening!!
When they do get me to go home, I can be found on Trevorton Road in
Coal Township, where I share the house with my husband, our Silky
Terrier named “Fezzywig,” two cockatiels (“Max” and “Cleo”) and cat
“Kitty.” (Hey, I ran out of cool names with “Fezzywig!!”) I also am
the proud mom of a terrific son who’s as crazy as his Mom and is
going into the Air Force next summer after graduation. My, they grow
so fast!! I enjoy reading books on the Civil War, World War Two,
working out, collecting Classic Rock CD’s, watching lots of DVDs and
driving my husband crazy!!
Okay, that’s about it. I hope I didn’t bore you too much!! Thanks
for taking the time to read this, and if you ever want to drop me a
line, feel free to e-mail anytime!!
