A 1959 Danville High School grad, Dick Hort saw his football career move to the snow belt. He was a three year letter winner at Buffalo University under Buddy Ryan. Dick was also a 2 time member of the ECAC team. Following graduation, Dick began a 36-year coaching career that earned him the nickname "The Coach". In 1963 he began his career at Montoursville High School. He then spent time at Shikellamy and Susquehanna University. In 1992, The Coach returned to Shikellamy High School for 3 seasons. He made the move to broadcasting Shikellamy Football games with Kevin Herr on WKOK in the Fall of 1997. He can also be found with Kevin on Service Electric Cablevision games during the post season.
